Greetings! My name is Kara Lee Wisdom Gregory, and I am the Director of Youth Ministry here at St. Tom’s. I also work with college students called “Life guides” who help teach our youth in the Religious Education Interactive (REI) program. I will be graduating with a degree in Youth, Adult and Family Service and a minor in Religious Studies from Purdue this December of 2007.
I have been involved with St. Tom’s for the past three years of my college experience, where I started off as a Life guide teaching the high school youth through the confirmation program. I then became the assistant to the youth minister, working alongside Kyle Murphy to lead the Confirmation class, and also help with retreats and data entry for the entire religious education program. I am pleased to be part of the full-time staff, and being able to minister to the youth and college students of this vibrant Parish.
I thank God for the people of St. Tom’s, who have welcomed me with open arms and have supported me through my spiritual journey. I’ve been able to travel to Neon, KY for the spring break mission trip, attend two PCE retreats, plan a confirmation retreat, and teach the youth of the Parish. I continue to grow each day, and can only hope to share my joy of Jesus Christ with you.
My favorite bible verse is from Sirach 1:1- All wisdom comes from the Lord, and with him, it remains forever”. May you seek wisdom from the Lord in all you do, and let it remains with you forever.
