I began my faith journey as the granddaughter of a Baptist minister and converted to Catholicism as a middle school student. As an undergraduate Biology major, I served as the president, vice-president and treasurer of the Catholic Student Group. While working on a PhD, I became an active member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Center. I even had the pleasure of living in the basement of the church for two summers and I really enjoyed this arrangement until the flood!
I have served on various committees at St. Tom’s that I can not even remember them all. I was a member of the music ministry for many years because I love to lift my voice unto the Lord and I have promised the leaders of the 11am group that I will return, one day. I have also served as a member of the Liturgy team, coordinated the writing for the prayers of the faithful, member of the student campaign committee, co-chair of the HOST capital campaign and a member of the steering Are We Cooking Campaign. I currently volunteer as a lector, Eucharistic and hospitality minister and occasionally as a server. In addition, I am a member of the partners in preaching team, Stewardship committee and the Parish Council. I have been an RCIA sponsor and currently serve as a confirmation sponsor. I am also a member of a Rosary Circle.
When I am not volunteering at St. Tom’s, I am the advisor for the Association of Multicultural Science Students (AMSS), Caribbean Student Association (CSA) and the Zeta Theta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In addition, I am a Faculty Fellow Earhart hall and serve as an official scorekeeper at Purdue Women's Basketball games. I am the 2006-07 President of the Lafayette Daybreak Rotary Club. I am the former organizer of a lunch program to feed the homeless in Lafayette.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, attending sporting events, traveling, walking, playing tennis, spending time with family and friends, serving as the best Godmother that I can be, and volunteering in the community.
