Membership

 

Membership Guidelines:

The voting membership shall consist of no less than ten and no more than fifteen members, made up of resident parishioners and students. All members are to be active Catholics and members of the parish. These will consist of volunteers with an interest in healing, and a desire to serve the parish family to promote health/healing. There shall be at least one member representing the pastoral staff, as designated by the pastor. This person shall act as a liaison between the cabinet and the pastoral staff. The pastor and associate pastor(s) are ex-officio members of the cabinet, and their participation in deliberations is welcomed. The parish nurse(s) shall be member(s) of the Health Cabinet, and shall be responsible to report to the cabinet re: activities and can expect guidance from the cabinet. There will be 15 members designated as voting members, as well as a pool of volunteers who will be non-voting auxiliary members of the cabinet. Attendance at the meetings is not mandatory for auxiliary members.

  • Chairperson, a term of one year

  • Assistant Chairperson, a two year term, one year as Assistant with the second year following into the role of Chairperson

  • Recording Secretary, a term of one year

  • Corresponding Secretary, a term of one year

  • Treasurer, a two year term.

 

Duties of the Officers:

  • The Chairperson shall conduct all meetings, and prepare an agenda for each meeting.

  • The Assistant Chairperson shall assume the responsibilities of the Chairperson when the Chairperson is absent, and record the minutes of the meetings when the Recording Secretary is absent.

  • The Recording Secretary shall take all minutes at the meetings, keep an ongoing record of all meetings, and distribute the minutes to all members either via e-mail or prior to each meeting.

  • The Corresponding Secretary shall mail any correspondence as deemed necessary by the cabinet.

  • The Treasurer shall keep an accounting of any and all monies for use by the cabinet
